Abstract

A connecting rod (4) for a vehicle is disclosed. The connecting rod comprises a small end, a big end (10), and a shank (12) extending from the small end to the big end. The big end comprises a base part (14) located adjacent to the shank, and a cap part (16) connectable to the base part. In an assembled state, the base part and the cap part together define an inner circular surface (20), which defines a central opening which is configured to receive and house two bearing shells (6) for contacting said inner circular surface. The base part is provided with a first groove (22) and the cap part is provided with a second groove (24), wherein in said assembled state, the first groove and the second groove together form a through hole extending from an external surface (26) of the big end to said inner circular surface.
