Abstract

The invention relates to a Method for providing an image signal (17) for a medical visualization system (1), comprising: receiving at least one layer (11) of three-dimensional topography data (10) of a patient region of interest (21), receiving three-dimensional preoperative data (12) of the patient region of interest (21), determining distance values (14) of a distance (13) between the three-dimensional preoperative data (12) and the at least one layer (11) of the three-dimensional topography data (10), generating a rendered image (16) by rendering the three-dimensional preoperative data (12) with a rendering style based at least in part on the determined distance values (14), and generating and providing an image signal (17) which represents the rendered image (16). The invention further relates to a medical visualization system (1).
