Abstract

Cartoning machine (8) and wrapping method to produce a carton (3) of packs (2) for smoking articles. The following are provided: a transport conveyor (31) configured to feed, one after the other, the single packs (2) for smoking articles by conveying the packs (2) for smoking articles along a linear transport path (P3); a lifting device (32), which is arranged at the end of the transport path (P3) and is configured to cyclically and vertically push upwards a pack (2) for smoking articles that is arranged in the transport path (P3) so as to form, in a stacking area (A1), a stack formed by at least two packs (2) for smoking articles on top of one another and in contact in the area of the larger side walls; and a pushing device (33) configured to horizontally push a stack formed by two packs (2) for smoking articles on top of one another from the stacking area (A1) to a grouping area (A2), where a predetermined number of stacks, which are in lateral contact with one another in the area of the smaller side walls of the packs (2) for smoking articles, are arranged in succession, thus completing the formation of a group (9) of packs (2) for smoking articles.
