Abstract

It is provided a method for configuring communication between a first device (11) and a second device (12) of an access control system (9), the first device (11) being one of an end device (1) and a communication hub (2), and the second device (12) being the other of the end device (1) and the communication hub (2). The method comprises: obtaining (40) configuration data comprising a first group identifier; configuring (42) the first device (11) to be associated with the first group identifier; obtaining (44) a second group identifier by communicating with the second device (12), wherein the second group identifier is a group identifier for the second device (12); determining (46) that the first group identifier and the second group identifier match; and configuring (48) the first device (11) to perform future communication with the second device (12) over a local wireless communication interface.
