Abstract

The current invention relates to a cutting device (2) and related method for cutting an extruded strand (3) into parts (44) for forming bricks or slips (4). The strand (3) is cut in a direction (H) transverse to its longitudinal direction (L), whereby first (5) and second (6) cutting faces of the parts (44) are formed, in addition to the extruded faces (7-10). The cutting device (2) comprises a transverse cutting knife (11) with a blade (12), comprising a first partial blade (13) and a second partial blade (16) at an angle (α) to the first partial blade (13), for correspondingly providing a first said cutting face (5) with a first partial cutting face (15), at a first edge (15a) adjacent to a first said extruded face (7), and a second partial cutting face (18), at said angle (α) to the first partial cutting face (15) at a second edge (15b) of the first partial cutting face (15) away from the first edge (15a).
