The invention relates to a method and control system (30) for controlling the operation of a root crop harvester (1) for harvesting, comprising: - obtaining sensor output data (15, 17) from at least one sensor (11, 23) in the harvester (1), representing at least one state parameter of the harvester (1); - receiving the sensor output data (15, 17) in a neural network algorithm (22), and executing the algorithm (22) for generating a suggested operation action (β<t>) for adjusting at least one adjustable operating parameter of the harvester (1), in function of the received sensor output data (15, 17), based on operation actions of adjustment of the at least one adjustable operating parameter, by one or more operators in a reference root crop harvester in function of the at least one state parameter; and - taking operation actions for adjusting the at least one operating parameter in function of the at least one state parameter.

The current invention relates to a cutting device (2) and related method for cutting an extruded strand (3) into parts (44) for forming bricks or slips (4). The strand (3) is cut in a direction (H) transverse to its longitudinal direction (L), whereby first (5) and second (6) cutting faces of the parts (44) are formed, in addition to the extruded faces (7-10).
