Abstract

The disclosure relates to a port (520) for an automated storage and retrieval system (500), the automated storage and retrieval system (500) comprising a storage grid (100) configured to store one or more storage containers therein, the port (520) comprising: a first conveyor belt system (506) configured to carry at least one of the one or more storage containers from a first position (504) of the storage grid (100) towards a second position (508) of the storage grid (100); wherein the port (520) is configured to: receive, at the first position (504), a storage container from the storage grid (100) onto the first conveyor belt system (506); and return, at the second position (508), from the first conveyor belt system (506), the storage container to the storage grid (100).
