Abstract
The present invention provides a control unit (1) for controlling a flyback converter comprising a power switch (S<w>) and an active clamp circuit (3) having a clamp switch (S<a>), wherein the control unit (1) is configured to switch the clamp switch (S<a>) from the non-conducting state to the conducting state when a waiting time (t<off,HS>) has elapsed after switching the power switch (S<w>) from the conducting state to the non-conducting state, switch the power switch (S<w>) from the conducting state to the non-conducting state when a current (i<p>) flowing through the power switch (S<w>) being in the conducting state reaches a maximum current value (Î<p>), and compute the waiting time using an inductance of a primary winding (L1) of a transformer of the flyback converter, the maximum current value (Î<p>), a winding ratio (n) of the transformer and an output voltage (V<out>) of the flyback converter.
