Abstract

The invention relates to a medical coagulation instrument comprising an instrument body and thermal nanoparticles, wherein the thermal nanoparticles support optical resonance, in particular localized surface plasmon resonance, and are bonded to and/or entrapped in a surface of the instrument body, wherein the thermal nanoparticles are capable of increasing their temperature by light irradiation in a wavelength range that matches with the wavelength of the optical resonance, in particular localized surface plasmon resonance, of the thermal nanoparticles. Further, the invention relates to a method for manufacturing a medical coagulation instrument, to a medical coagulation kit and a method for coagulation of blood.
