Abstract

A battery apparatus, including a battery switch (SW_B) that allows or blocks an electrical connection between a first battery (B1) and a second battery (B2), a first power conversion module (PC1) that performs power conversion between the first battery (B1) and an intermediary capacitor(C), a second power conversion module (PC2) that performs power conversion between the second battery (B2) and the intermediary capacitor (C), and a processor (10) configured to control the first and second power conversion modules (PC1, PC2) so that the first and second batteries (B1, B2) are complementarily charged and discharged via the intermediary capacitor (C) in an open state of the battery switch (SW_B) and obtains characteristic parameters of the first and second batteries (B1, B2) after complementarily charging and discharging the first and second batteries (B1, B2) is completed.
