Abstract

An automatic filing system uses a conveyor system to controllably move a plurality of shuttles (104a..104g) that are able to hold a bag for packaging the prescription products for delivery as well as shuttles (106a,106b,344a,344b) that are able to hold a bin for holding prescription products. The bag-holding shuttles can transport the bags to filling stations (110, 112,312,324) that can place products, such as portions of an individual's prescription or other related products, into the bags and then to a sealing station (336) that seals the bag prior to delivery to a sorting station (348) for delivery. The bin-holding shuttles may be used for processing of orders that may require some additional manual intervention in order to complete the order.
