Abstract

Based on output of a mouse sensor (24, 44) of an input device (3, 4), a first state where an opening (23, 43) of the mouse sensor is closed is determined. A second state where a bottom portion of the input device is facing downward and a third state where the input device is stationary around an axis parallel to the bottom portion are determined based on output of an inertial sensor (83, 84, 96, 97) of the input device. When at least the first to third states are determined, a displayed virtual object is controlled based on the output of the mouse sensor.
