Abstract

The invention relates to a process for manufacturing a tubular package by welding the end of a tubular body to a component, said component potentially being a shoulder, a cap or a bottom, which process comprises at least the following steps: A. supplying a component; B. supplying a tubular body; C. heating respective regions to be welded on the component and on the tubular body; D. placing under pressure the regions to be welded and partially cooling the weld; E. capturing a thermal image of the partially cooled weld region; F. characterizing the weld, this comprising pre-processing and processing said thermal image; ejecting defective welded packages; said process being characterized in that, in step F, the processing of the thermal image uses an artificial-intelligence algorithm that extracts at least a geometric signature and a thermal signature of the weld and makes it possible in real time to detect defective packages in a production batch.
