Abstract

Device and method for obtaining a point cloud full-surface estimate of an organ, configured to estimate pose, size and shape of the organ from received medical imaging data comprising a partial-surface point cloud of the organ, the device comprising an electronic data processor adapted to perform said full-surface estimate, and comprising:a pose estimator arranged to estimate the pose and size of the received partial-surface point cloud and to convert the received partial-surface point cloud to a partial-surface point cloud which is canonical in pose and size, a shape estimator arranged to estimate the shape of the transformed partial-surface point cloud using a predetermined statistical shape model of the organ, and a point cloud reconstructor arranged to output the point cloud full-surface estimate of the organ.
