Abstract

The present invention relates to an alternating current disconnector (100), comprising: a watertight housing (102) for subsea operation of the alternating current disconnector, a disconnector unit (107) comprising: a contact terminal (106) accommodated in the housing; a movable contact (110) arranged in the contact terminal and being movable relative to the contact terminal; and a linear hydraulic actuator (114) arranged inside the contact terminal and being configured to linearly move the movable contact in the contact terminal in two directions for closing and opening a connection with a contact conductor (116).
