Abstract

An apparatus and related aspects for providing reduced pressure to a tissue site are disclosed. The apparatus comprises a source of negative pressure configured to provide negative pressure via a first fluid flow path from an inlet of the source of negative pressure to a wound site, power supply circuitry comprising a power source, the power supply circuitry being configured to provide a supply voltage to the source of negative pressure, and a pressure sensor arranged to monitor a pressure level in a fluid flow path that is in fluid connection with the wound site. The apparatus further comprises control circuitry operatively connected to the source of negative pressure, the pressure sensor, and the power supply circuitry. The control circuitry is configured to in response to a pressure change rate as detected by the pressure sensor being below a pressure change rate threshold while the source of negative pressure is active, set the supply voltage to the source of negative pressure to a first voltage value above a nominal voltage value.
