Abstract

A diagnostic substrate, such as a wafer or reticle, is disclosed for use in determination of a charge on a surface of an electrostatic clamp configured to support the diagnostic substrate, the substrate comprising a stack of: a dielectric light reflector layer, an electro-optic crystal layer, and a transparent electrode layer. The electro-optic crystal layer is between the dielectric light reflector layer and the transparent electrode layer. A Pockels sensor may comprise the diagnostic substrate.
