Abstract
A negative electrode (60) containing Si-containing particles (14, 16) and graphite particles (12) and being capable of suppressing capacity degradation when a secondary battery is repeatedly charged and discharged is provided. The negative electrode of a secondary battery of the present disclosure includes a negative electrode current collector (62), and a negative electrode active material layer (64) supported by the negative electrode current collector. The negative electrode active material layer contains graphite particles, first Si-containing particles (14), and second Si-containing particles (16). The content rate of Si in the first Si-containing particles is smaller than the content rate of Si in the second Si-containing particles. When a density of a molded body obtained by uniaxially pressurizing and molding 1 g of particles at 25°C and at 60 MPa into a tablet having a diameter of 20 mm is defined as a consolidation density, the consolidation density of the first Si-containing particles is 0.9 g/cm<3> or more, and that of the second Si-containing particles is less than 0.9 g/cm<3>.
