Abstract

The invention relates to a method (100) for operating a brake system (10) of a vehicle (1), the brake system (10) comprising at least one friction brake (11), the method (100) comprising:- obtaining condition data indicative of a condition of the at least one friction brake (11); and- providing a control instruction for controlling operation of the at least one friction brake (11) based on the condition data, the control instruction being configured to operate the at least one friction brake (11) and a propulsion system (40) of the vehicle (1) such that the operation of the at least one friction brake (11) is being at least partially compensated by the operation of the propulsion system (40).
