Abstract
Provided is a resin substrate for forming an optical member, the resin substrate containing a resin, wherein the resin substrate has a thickness of 0.1 to 1.5 mm, the resin has a density of 0.93 to 2.10 g/cm<sup>3</sup>, the resin substrate has a refractive index of 1.60 or more, the resin substrate has a retardation value of 30 nm or less, and when A represents the difference between the maximum value and the minimum value of retardation as measured along a straight line in a uniaxial direction of the resin substrate, and B represents the difference between the maximum value and the minimum value of retardation as measured along a straight line in a direction substantially orthogonal to the uniaxial direction, the relationship represented by the formula (1) below is satisfied: A/B≤3.5
