Abstract
A method of improving contrast in an exposure apparatus is disclosed. The exposure apparatus receives a plurality of radiation pulses from a radiation source, the method comprises modulating an intensity of the radiation pulses. In an embodiment, the intensity of the radiation pulses is modulated according to a time profile. The modulation may set an intensity of the pulses to maximize at least one image quality parameter of at least one critical feature of a pattern of the patterning device.
