Abstract

A data storage device includes: a control unit (11) configured to, in response to detection of a predetermined vehicle condition, cause a storage device (7) to store vehicle data corresponding to the vehicle condition; and an acquisition unit (12) configured to acquire environmental information of a periphery of a vehicle, wherein the control unit is configured to: determine a sampling frequency of the vehicle data to be stored in the storage device (7), based on the environmental information acquired by the acquisition unit (12) and a pre-acquired relationship between the environmental information and the sampling frequency of the vehicle data; and cause the storage device (7) to store the vehicle data sampled at the determined sampling frequency.
