Abstract

The battery cell includes a housing and an electrode assembly, where the electrode assembly is accommodated within the housing, the housing is cylindrical, a height of the housing is H<1>, and a radius of the housing is R<1>. The housing includes a first end wall, a second end wall, and a side wall, where the first end wall and the second end wall are oppositely disposed along a height direction of the housing, and the side wall connects the first end wall and the second end wall. A sum of thicknesses of the first end wall and the second end wall is a, and a thickness of the side wall is b, satisfying: (R<1>-b)<2>*(H<1>-a)/(R<1>2 *H<1>)≥96%. Thus, the volumetric energy density of the battery cell is increased under a same chemical material system.
