Abstract
A method (60a) for determining assistance information for transmitting an upcoming data packet (j) via a route in a delay tolerant network including at least one contact (C<sub>1</sub>-C<sub>4</sub>) linking two routing entities (A-E),the method (60a) comprising:(S60) obtaining data related to the contact (C<sub>1</sub>-C<sub>4</sub>),(S611, S621) obtaining data related to the transmission of a data packet (i, j) among the upcoming data packet (j) and an ongoing data packet (i),based on at least said data related to the transmission of the data packet, (S612, S624) splitting the contact, said splitting resulting in at least first and second split contact (C<sub>3a</sub>, C<sub>3a*</sub>, C<sub>3b</sub>, C<sub>3b*</sub>) linking said two routing entities (A-E),(S614, S626) determining the assistance information, including at least data related to the first split contact and the second split contact (C<sub>3a</sub>, C<sub>3a*</sub>, C<sub>3b</sub>, C<sub>3b*</sub>).
