Abstract

A method for wireless communication and a communication device are provided. The method includes the following. A first device receives or sends first information, where the first information indicates that the first device is to perform communication based on a target communication module among multiple communication modules, and the multiple communication modules respectively have different communication capabilities and/or power consumption. The method for wireless communication is provided in embodiments of the present disclosure. In this method, the target communication module to be used by the first device can be determined between the first device and a second device through the first information. In other words, the introduction of the first information enables the first device to communicate with the second device based on communication modules with different power consumption (e.g., a reduced capability (RedCap) communication module). Compared with a solution in which the first device can only communicate with the second device based on an enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) communication module, this method is conducive to increasing the power consumption saved by the first device.
