Abstract
The present invention generally relates to a computer-implemented method for generating a path (P) for a marine vessel (10), the method comprising: acquiring (S102) wind data (28) indicating strength and direction of wind with respect to the marine vessel, acquiring (S104) sea current data (32) indicating strength and direction of current with respect to the marine vessel, detecting (S104) positions of obstacles (40, 50) ahead of the marine vessel (10), determining (S106) constraints related to passing distance (P1, P2) from the obstacles (40, 50) for the marine vessel (10), generating a path (P) for the marine vessel (10) for counteracting the wind and current calculated based on the wind data and current data while respecting the constraints, wherein the constraints are adjusted based on the wind data and the current data to ensure a buffer distance (B1, B2) to the obstacles (40, 50), and providing output data (60) of the generated path.
