Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a polarization detection system for detecting a polarization of a ranging device. The polarization detection system comprises: at least two receiving elements with different polarizations, wherein the at least two receiving elements are configured to receive an EM signal emitted by the ranging device; a power and/or phase detector configured to detect individual signal power and/or phase information of the EM signal received with the at least two receiving elements; and a processor configured to determine the polarization of the EM signal based on the individual signal power and/or phase information. The processor is further configured to: determine a signal power value of the EM signal based on the individual signal power information and the polarization of the EM signal, control one or more transmitting elements of a ranging test system to transmit an EM response signal based on the determined polarization of the EM signal, and/or adapt an RCS value of the EM response signal based on the determined polarization of the EM signal.
