Abstract

Provided is a manufacturing device and method for a cylindrical tire member for accurately grasping a positioning degree in winding a band-like tire material around a forming drum body by moving the forming drum body in a width direction and positioning the band-like tire material at a reference position and for making a space required for a sensor to be used for grasping the positioning degree compact. A connecting portion configured to move a sensor (10) in a drum width direction together with a forming drum body (6) includes an extending portion (L) extending upward from the forming drum body (6) toward an opposite side of a conveyor (16a) at an inclination angle (S) of 30° or more and 60° or less with respect to a horizontal direction. The sensor (10) is disposed in the extending portion (L) in a side view. Based on widthwise position data of a tire material (M1) on the forming drum body (6) successively detected by the sensor (10) and data on a widthwise installation position of the sensor (10) with respect to the forming drum body (6), a control unit (17) calculates a widthwise position of the tire material (M1) over its entire length with respect to a reference position in the width direction of the forming drum body (6).
