Abstract

An electrical component box for a heavy-duty vehicle, comprising a bottom floor, a first panel and a second panel, which together, at least partly, define an internal space configured to house electrical components. The electrical component box also comprises a pivotable panel configured to support a plurality of electrical components. The pivotable panel has a closed position and an open position, A locking mechanism is configured to lock the pivotable panel in said closed position by securing the pivotable panel to the first panel and the second panel, thereby causing the pivotable panel to contribute in absorbing load exerted on at least one of the first and second panel, and preventing the pivotable panel from pivoting. Unlocking the pivotable panel, by the locking mechanism, allows the pivotable panel to be pivoted from the closed position to the open position.
