Abstract
An optical spectrum generator 1 comprises a pulsed light source 10 that generates pulsed light, an optical modulator 20 that modulates the pulsed light of a predetermined wavelength from the pulsed light source 1 and a nonlinear loop mirror 30 comprising an optical splitter 31 and a loop-shaped optical fiber 32 connected to two ends on the same side of the optical splitter 31. The optical modulator 20 is arranged on the loop of the nonlinear loop mirror 30. The optical fiber 32 of the nonlinear loop mirror 30 generates a peak in the pulsed light modulated by the optical modulator 20 due to a nonlinear effect. The optical path length from the optical splitter 31 to the optical modulator 20 is different when following the loop of the nonlinear loop mirror 30 in a clockwise direction and when following the loop of the nonlinear loop mirror 30 in a counterclockwise direction.
