Abstract

Disclosed is a battery module, which includes a cell stack having a plurality of battery cells; a module case configured to accommodate the cell stack and having a venting hole in a top plate that covers an upper end of the cell stack; and a venting channel formation sheet coupled to the top plate and having a folding portion that is folded at least once at a position corresponding to the venting hole, and the folding portion is provided to be spread over the venting hole by a predetermined pressure to form a gas movement passage in an upper portion of the top plate.
