Abstract

A power supply input circuit for handling inrush currents is provided, wherein the power supply input circuit comprises a first terminal and second terminal, wherein the first terminal of the power supply input circuit is connectable to a power source and the second terminal of the power supply input circuit is connectable to another electronic circuit, preferably a power supply circuit and/or an electronic circuit in a vehicle, the power supply input circuit comprising at least one input capacitor, and a switch, wherein the switch is connected to the input capacitor, wherein the switch is configured to switch between an on-state and an off-state such that an inrush current generated by the power source is split into a plurality of pulses, wherein a duration of the on-state of the switch is shorter than a duration of the inrush current.
