Abstract

A rotating electric machine includes: a stator (50) having a stator coil (52); a rotor (60) having a rotor core (61) and main pole portions (62, 162, 262A, 262B) provided respectively for magnetic poles, which are aligned in a circumferential direction, and each protruding from the rotor core toward the stator in a radial direction; a field coil (70) wound on each of the main pole portions; and holding members (90) each of which is provided between a circumferentially-adjacent pair of the main pole portions, is mounted to the rotor, and covers the field coil from the stator side. Moreover, each of the holding members is formed by laminating, in an axial direction, plate-shaped members (91) formed of a metal material.
