Abstract

The present invention is a spin wave waveguide structure including: an insulating magnetic film; and a periodic conductor film disposed on at least one surface of both surfaces of the insulating magnetic film, the periodic conductor film being formed of a conductor film having a periodic structure, in which the periodic structure of the periodic conductor film is such that the conductor film is formed of an assembly of a plurality of fragment films, the fragment films are electrically insulated from each other, the insulation is due to the fragment films being separated by a plurality of holes and grooves connecting the plurality of holes or due to a non-magnetic and non-conductive material existing in at least a portion of the holes and grooves, the spin wave waveguide structure includes, on the insulating magnetic film, a portion where the periodic conductor film is present and a portion where the conductor film is not present, and the insulating magnetic film of the portion where the conductor film is not present functions as a spin wave waveguide. Accordingly, a spin wave waveguide structure capable of guiding spin waves without changing the shape of a magnetic material is provided.
