The present invention is a silicon-containing composition, containing: (A) a thermosetting silicon-containing resin having a weight-average molecular weight of 1,000 to 3,000; (B) a polymer having one or both of repeating units represented by the following general formulae (1) and (2); and (C) a solvent. This can provide: a silicon-containing composition excellent in properties of forming a film in and filling a pattern of a stepped substrate; and a patterning process using the silicon-containing composition. The present invention can also provide a silicon-containing composition that can minimize the effect on the human body and the environment by the use of a surfactant to which the PFAS regulations of the European REACH do not apply.

An oral care implement including a handle and an oral care refill head. The handle has a gripping portion, an engagement component coupled to a distal end of the gripping portion, and a stem. The engagement component includes a plate portion and a first engagement feature. The stem extends through an opening in the engagement component and protrudes from the plate portion. The oral care refill head includes an oral care treatment portion and a sleeve portion. The sleeve portion has an inner surface that defines a sleeve cavity having a cavity axis and a second engagement feature. When the oral care refill head is detachably coupled to the handle, the first and second engagement features mate with one another to at least one of: (1) position the oral care refill head and the handle in an operational alignment; and (2) lock the oral care refill head to the handle.

The photomask blank includes: a substrate; a patterning layer formed of a single layer or multiple layers on the substrate; and a hard mask film on the patterning layer. The hard mask film is made of a material containing chromium and at least one element selected from nitrogen, carbon, and oxygen, a film density of the hard mask film is 6.0 g/cm³ or less, the hard mask film has resistance to dry-etching using a gas containing fluorine and not containing oxygen, and resistance to dry-etching using a gas containing chlorine and not containing oxygen, and the photomask blank satisfies the following formula (1): d/v ≤ 60 [min] (1), wherein a film thickness reduction amount per minute of the hard mask film when processed with a sulfuric acid-hydrogen peroxide mixture is v [nm/min] and a film thickness of the hard mask film is d [nm].

A method for producing a glass strand, the method including: (1) a drawing step of drawing raw filaments composed of a glass composition containing SiO<2> in a compositional amount of 90% by mass or more into glass fibers under conditions of a melting temperature of 1,500 to 3,500°C and a tension of 0.1 to 1.0 cN per filament; and (2) a bundling step of bundling 30 to 400 of the glass fibers obtained in the drawing step to produce a glass strand. This can provide a method for producing a glass strand in which the occurrence of thread breakage during drawing into glass fibers is reduced, and a method for producing a glass yarn in which the occurrence of thread breakage or fuzzing during thread twisting is reduced and a variation in quality is small between the beginning part and end part of winding in a long-length glass yarn.

An oral care implement having a head and a handle. A plurality of tooth cleaning elements extend from an exposed front surface of the head. The handle has an open thumb gripping passageway extending between an exposed first surface of the handle and an exposed second surface of the handle opposite the exposed first surface. The handle also has a plurality of slots defining open slot passageways from the exposed first surface of the handle to the exposed second surface of the handle. The open thumb gripping passageway may be defined by a ring component that is fitted into an aperture in a body component. The open thumb gripping passageway may be a void space in the handle. The open slot passageways may be elongated along the handle and may serve to reduce a total amount of virgin material needed to manufacture the oral care implement.

A tooth whitening apparatus which includes a container having a cavity containing a tooth whitening composition and an applicator assembly which includes a cap, a rod member coupled to the cap and protruding from a bottom end of the cap and having a longitudinal axis, an outer surface, and a distal portion, and an applicator tip coupled to the distal portion of the rod member. The applicator assembly is alterable between: (1) an attached state whereby the cavity of the container is sealed; and (2) a detached state whereby the applicator assembly is separated from the container to apply the tooth whitening composition onto a user's teeth. The outer surface of the rod member includes at least one vent groove that is elongated in a direction of the longitudinal axis to reduce a pressure in the cavity of the container when altering the applicator assembly into the attached state.

The present invention is a composition for forming a wafer-edge-protection film for forming a wafer-edge-protection film on a peripheral edge of a substrate, including a polymer (A) represented by the following general formula (1) and a solvent. In the formula (1), "W" represents -SO₂-, -C(=O)-, or -O-; R₁, R₂, R₃, R₄, and R₅ each independently represent a halogen atom, a monovalent organic group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, or a hydroxy group; and "a", "b", "c", "d", and "e" each independently represent an integer of 0 to 4. This can provide a composition for forming a wafer-edge-protection film capable of providing a wafer-edge-protection film that can exhibit excellent dry etching resistance and excellent uniform coatablity, even on a wafer edge that is difficult to be coated.
