Abstract

A steering control device (50) controls a motor (21). The motor drives a steering system (10) that steers a steered wheel (12) of a vehicle. The steering control device (50) performs feedback control such that an actual angle (θ<p>) of a shaft (23) that rotates in conjunction with a steering operation of the steered wheel (12) follows a target rotation angle (θ<p_med>* ); calculates, based on a state variable (θ<p_med>* ) of the vehicle, an estimated value (ζ) of a human body motion indicator representing human body motion that affects ride comfort or discomfort of a vehicle occupant; determine whether the human body motion indicator (ζ) has reached a level at which it is to be suppressed, based on the estimated value (ζ) of the human body motion indicator; and when it is determined that the human body motion indicator has reached the level at which it is to be suppressed, correct the target rotation angle (θ<p_med>* ) such that the human body motion indicator is suppressed.
