Abstract

A dimmable constant voltage driver (10, 20) for being connected in parallel with at least one further dimmable constant voltage driver (10, 20) to jointly or redundantly supply an LED-based load (30) is provided. Said driver (10, 20) comprises a modulation unit (11, 21) for modulating a corresponding DC output voltage of the dimmable constant voltage driver (10, 20), especially to dim the LED-based load (30), based on a modulation control signal, and a control unit (12, 22) for issuing said modulation control signal for the modulation unit (11, 21). In this context, the control unit (12, 22) is configured to provide said modulation control signal for the at least one further dimmable constant voltage driver (10, 20) and/or to receive said modulation control signal from the at least one further dimmable constant voltage driver (10, 20).
