Abstract
A catalyst for synthesizing methanol from carbon dioxide and hydrogen via a catalysis, comprising a zirconium oxide support of a monoclinic crystal structure and catalytic sites provided on the support for the catalysis and from an impregnation with a precursor solution for forming zinc oxide crystals, shows amounts of zinc atoms and zirconium atoms determined on the catalyst by XPS with a ratio of an amount of zinc to an amount of zirconium of 0.4 or more.
