Abstract

A reciprocating saw, having a housing, a motor, a slider, a support body, a reciprocation conversion mechanism and an orbital mechanism, wherein the support body is supported in the housing. The orbital mechanism comprises a cam part which is able to contact the support body directly or indirectly in the up-down direction. An elastic component is provided to create an action force which can cushion the user force applied by the user in downward direction and reduce the cutting force sustained by the blade during the direct or indirect contact of cam part and the support body. The elastic component can change the path of orbital motion of the saw blade, thereby increasing the cutting efficiency and reducing saw blade wear.
