Abstract
A battery electric vehicle (100) controlled in control modes including a manual mode in which an electric motor (4) is controlled so as to simulate an action of a virtual vehicle equipped with a virtual engine includes: a transmission (9) configured to change a gear ratio between the electric motor (4) and a drive wheel (6F, 6R); a clutch (8) provided between the electric motor (4) and the transmission (9); a clutch operation device (24); and a control device (101) including a processor (102). The processor (102) is configured to communicate with the clutch (8) and the clutch operation device (24). The processor (102) is configured to, in the manual mode, control the clutch (8) according to a command from the clutch operation device (24). The processor (102) is configured to, even in the manual mode, at the time of starting of the battery electric vehicle (100), start the battery electric vehicle (100) by controlling the clutch (8) without depending on the command from the clutch operation device (24).
