Abstract
A technique is provided for imparting environmental stress tolerance to bacteria such as lactic acid bacteria. There is provided a composition for imparting environmental stress tolerance to bacteria, the composition containing a cps1 gene cluster derived from Lacticaseibacillus paracasei. This composition is ideally used in order to impart tolerance to environmental stress caused by at least one selected from the group consisting of acids, bile components, alcohols, metal ions, hydrophobic substances, and surfactants.
