Abstract

An image forming apparatus (100) includes a main body (MB), a container (2) and a cover (3). The container (2) includes a supply port (20), a shutter (21) and a seal member (22) which seals a gap between an outer edge portion of the supply port (20) and the shutter (21). The image forming apparatus (100) includes a shutter opening/closing mechanism (OC). The shutter (21) includes a shutter engagement portion (211), and the shutter opening/closing mechanism (OC) includes a first engagement portion (11). When the cover (3) reaches a closed position, the first engagement portion (11) makes contact with the shutter engagement portion (211) from the inner side of the main body (MB) to cause the shutter (21) to slide from a blocking position toward an opening position.
