Abstract

This application provides a printer control method, an electronic device, and a system. The printer control method may be applied to a mobile terminal such as a mobile phone and a tablet computer and a system of a printer. In a process of discovering the printer, a terminal device may obtain a product identifier of the printer. Based on the foregoing product identifier, the terminal device may determine a protocol type of the printer, to further obtain a protocol packet matching the protocol type of the printer, and send, to the printer through the foregoing protocol packet, configuration information of a local area network in which the terminal device is currently located, to control the printer to access a network. Then, the terminal device may control, through a printing standard mopria protocol packet or a protocol packet provided by a printer manufacturer, the foregoing printer to execute a printing task. When the printer manufacturer does not provide the protocol packet, the terminal device may control, through the mopria protocol packet, the foregoing printer to execute the printing task.
