Abstract
A propulsion unit includes a stator, a rotor configured to rotate relative to the stator, a propeller connected to the rotor, an inverter electrically connected to the stator, a cooling housing that is disposed adjacent to the stator and the inverter and defines a cooling channel, a heat exchanger connected to the cooling channel, and one or more fans coupled to the rotor and configured generate airflow toward the heat exchanger through the cooling housing.
