Abstract

The invention concerns an analog-to-digital converter (1) for converting an analog input signal (V<i>) into a digital representation, the analog-to-digital converter (1) comprising comparison means for comparing an upper comparison value and a lower comparison value with the input signal (V<i>) and for outputting an indication signal indicating a crossing of the input signal (V<i>) with one of the comparison values, and comparison value generating means for generating the upper and lower comparison value depending on adjustment signals (A<u>, A<l>) of a control logic (2). The comparison value generating means comprise an upper capacitor (C<u>) and a lower capacitor (C<l>), wherein the upper comparison value depends on a charging state of the upper capacitor (C<u>) and the lower comparison value depends on a charging state of the lower capacitor (C<l>), wherein in response to the crossing of the input signal (V<i>) with one of the comparison values for adjusting the comparison values, the charging states of the capacitors (C<u>, C<l>) are changeable depending on the adjustment signals (A<u>, A<l>).
