Abstract

A processing system includes: a cutting tool; a sensor; and a processing unit. The sensor measures a physical quantity indicating a state regarding loading on the cutting tool during a cutting process. Based on measurement results from the sensor at a plurality of measurement time points, the processing unit creates a graph including a plurality of plots each indicating data regarding the loading at a corresponding one of the measurement time points, and detects a state of the cutting process using the cutting tool, based on an area occupied by the plurality of plots in the created graph.
