Abstract
The invention provides an in-vitro or ex-vivo method of expanding lymphocytes and a population of expanded tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) for use in a method for treating cancer comprising providing a population of lymphocytes, wherein the lymphocytes are from a biological sample; culturing the lymphocytes in a growth medium; expanding the lymphocytes in an expansion medium comprising nutrients and differentiation factors and/or cytokines, wherein the differentiations factors and/or cytokines comprise or consist of interleukin-2, interleukin-7, interleukin-15, and interleukin-21; obtaining expanded lymphocytes.
