Abstract
A method for operating a battery management device, according to an embodiment of the present invention, may comprise the steps of: reading, when booting the battery management device, update information of battery management system (BMS) software-related setting values among BMS software-related data stored in a non-volatile memory of the battery management device; comparing the update information of the BMS software-related setting values with update-related values defined in the BMS software; and determining that the BMS is inoperable if the update information of the BMS software-related setting values does not match the update-related values defined in the software.
