Abstract

A battery pack including a pack case having a lower and upper case defining an interior space and a plurality of cell units. Each cell unit includes battery cells stacked in a first direction. The plurality of cell units are located within the interior space. A cell side beam is located on a side of each cell unit. The lower case includes, a first and second frame, a base plate, a front cover, a rear cover, a center beam extending in the first direction, and a cross beam extending in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. Each of the cell units is located within a space defined by the cross beam, the center beam, the side frames, and one of the front cover or the rear cover, and each of the cell side beams are coupled to the cross beam.
