Abstract

This application discloses a display luminance adjustment method, an electronic device, a storage medium, and a program product, and pertains to the field of electronic device technologies. The method includes: An electronic device powers on a target camera after a screen is turned on; the electronic device detects ambient light luminance by using the target camera; the electronic device adjusts display luminance based on the ambient light luminance detected by the target camera, where in a process in which the electronic device adjusts the display luminance, the target camera does not capture an image, and a camera application is not started; the electronic device starts the camera application in response to an operation of a user; and after the camera application is started, the electronic device captures an image by using the target camera, and displays an interface of the camera application, where the interface of the camera application includes the image captured by the target camera. In this application, no ambient light detection component needs to be configured, and the ambient light luminance is detected based on the target camera, so that costs of the electronic device are reduced. In addition, no image is captured, so that power consumption of the target camera is reduced, and performance of the electronic device is improved.
